Finding guidance, grace, and the fruit of the Spirit in those who support our journey
Parenting has a way of stretching us in ways we never expected. It calls us to love deeper, give more, and grow faster than we thought possible. And somewhere along the way, many of us begin to believe a quiet lie:
“I should be able to do this on my own.”
So when challenges come—especially in areas like discipline, behavior, or guiding our children’s hearts—we hesitate to ask for help. We worry about being judged. We wonder what others might think. We question if needing support somehow means we’re failing.
But the truth is… we were never meant to do this alone.
💛 There Is Strength in Humility
Choosing to ask for help is not weakness—it is wisdom.
It takes humility to say, “I need guidance. ”It takes courage to say, “I want to grow.”
God reminds us so clearly:
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” — James 4:10
When we humble ourselves, we invite Him into our parenting. We open the door for growth—not just for our children, but for us as parents too. We begin to move from striving to learning, from pressure to peace.
Parenting is not about perfection. It’s about being willing to be shaped.

🌱 Letting Go of the Fear of Judgment
One of the biggest barriers to asking for help is fear—fear of being misunderstood, criticized, or seen as “not enough.”
But here’s the truth:
The right people—the ones we should be learning from—won’t respond with judgment. They will respond with grace.
Safe, supportive guidance should feel like:
Encouragement, not shame
Understanding, not criticism
Partnership, not pressure
When you encounter that kind of support, it doesn’t tear you down—it builds you up.
✨ Looking for the Fruit of the Spirit in Others
Not all advice is created equal. That’s why it’s so important to be intentional about who we turn to for guidance.
Instead of choosing voices based on popularity or pressure, we can look for something deeper—the fruit of the Spirit, which comes from a life led by the Holy Spirit.
Scripture reminds us:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance (patience), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” — Galatians 5:22–23
A life led by the Spirit will naturally reflect these qualities—not perfectly, but consistently.
So when you are seeking help, ask yourself:
Are they showing:
Love in how they speak and support?
Patience when children are learning and growing?
Kindness and gentleness in their approach?
Faithfulness and self-control in how they guide and respond?
When someone’s guidance reflects the fruit of the Spirit, it is a sign that their support is rooted in truth, grace, and the work of the Holy Spirit.
These are the kinds of people who don’t just help manage behavior—they help shape hearts.
🧸 You Are Not Alone in This
Every parent has moments where they feel unsure. Every parent faces situations they weren’t fully prepared for .Every parent needs support at some point along the journey.
And that’s okay.
Asking for help doesn’t take away from your role as a parent—it strengthens it. It shows your commitment to doing what is best for your child, even when it requires humility.
🌿 A Gentle Reminder
You don’t have to carry the weight of parenting by yourself.
There is grace available. There is support available. There are people who are ready to walk alongside you—not to judge you, but to help you grow.
So if you’re in a season where you need help—especially in areas like discipline, guidance, or understanding your child more deeply—let this be your reminder:
💛 You are allowed to ask.
💛 You are worthy of support.
💛 And you are growing into the parent your child needs.
