The Letter /Cc/ Rooted in Reading Day 2: Exploring /Cc/ With Colors

Updated: 2 minutes ago

Welcome back to Day 2 of our Rooted in Reading journey! In today’s instructional video, children will continue exploring the letter /Cc/ through colorful, hands-on learning experiences that help strengthen early literacy skills in a fun and engaging way. Children will be introduced to the Letter /Cc/ Sound Book and Letter /Cc/ cards to help reinforce both the letter name and the /c/ sound in meaningful, interactive ways.

As part of today’s activities, children will complete the Letter /Cc/ lacing card to help develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and focus. They will also rainbow color the “C is for Cat” picture while practicing letter recognition and creativity. Families and educators will continue following the lesson plan by reviewing the Sound Chant instructional video or leading the chant together using the Sound Chant poster for extra sound practice and repetition.

You can download the C is for Cat Coloring Page here.

Throughout today’s lesson, children will build important preschool readiness skills including phonological awareness, beginning letter-sound recognition, listening and following directions, vocabulary development, pencil grip practice, and fine motor strengthening.

Each activity is designed to make learning playful, encouraging, and developmentally supportive as children grow in confidence on their early reading journey.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve families and educators through creative learning experiences that boast in the goodness and creativity of Jesus, the Master Teacher.
