At The Learning Boutique, we believe that children thrive when families and early childhood educators work together with consistency, transparency, and mutual respect. One of the ways we support child care family homes and group homes through our classroom helper service is by providing tools that help programs create strong foundations for communication and daily operations.
We are now sharing a sample Parent Handbook resource that was intentionally created to support family childcare and group home providers in organizing their program policies and expectations in a professional and family-friendly way.
This handbook was designed with accreditation-quality standards in mind and was created to support providers seeking approval through the National Association for Family Child Care accreditation process.

What Is Included in the Sample Parent Handbook?

The handbook includes important policies and procedures that help families understand how the program operates while creating consistency for children. Topics included are:
Childcare philosophy
Enrollment procedures
Hours of operation and daily program schedule
Holiday and vacation schedule
Arrival and dismissal policies
Meal times and food policies
Required items children need at Studio One
Personal belongings policy
Rest time and laundry day procedures
Toilet learning guidance
House rules and emergency procedures
Sick policy
Medicine management
Dress code
Discipline policy
Employment and volunteer policy
Withdrawal and termination policy
Open door policy and communication expectations
These sections help providers communicate clearly with families while supporting a safe, organized, and nurturing learning environment.
Bonus Resource Included: Potty Training Partnership Worksheet
As an added bonus, the resource also includes a Potty Training Worksheet designed to help families and educators create a shared toilet-learning plan together.

Toilet learning can become confusing and frustrating when expectations are different between home and childcare. This worksheet encourages open communication so that:
Parents understand the process being used in care
Educators understand the family’s goals and routines
Children receive consistent support in both environments
Expectations remain transparent and respectful for everyone involved

We believe children learn best when the adults around them are working together with patience, encouragement, and understanding.
A Resource Created Through Collaboration
This handbook is more than just paperwork. It is an example of how our classroom helper service supports the whole well-being of children by helping educators and families build strong partnerships.
Through our classroom helper service, we are available to work together with childcare providers to create a customized handbook that reflects:
Your childcare philosophy
Your program policies
Your family communication style
Your daily routines and expectations
The unique needs of your childcare program
The completed handbook file would be editable so providers can continue updating it as their program grows and changes.
We invite you to pop over to Moxie’s Teaching Toolbox to download the Free Sample Parent Handbook and the bonus Potty Training Worksheet.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. - Matthew 5:16
Available Through Donation-Based Support
We understand that many family childcare providers work hard to serve children while balancing limited budgets and resources. Because of this, we offer collaborative handbook creation through donation-based support.
Our goal is to encourage and support early childhood educators while helping programs create organized, professional, and family-centered systems that benefit children.
When educators and families work together intentionally, children feel safer, more confident, and more supported in their learning journey.
That is the heart behind our classroom helper service.
