What the Lord Has Done This Week ~ Reflections in Obedience

This week, the Lord has reminded me again that obedience is not always easy, but it is always worth it.

As I have been making plans for ministry, creating content, building lessons, and continuing the work the Lord has placed before me, I learned something deeply important: even while making plans that are aligned with obedience, there can still be temptation for human approval.

There were moments where I could feel the pull to soften things, to make them more acceptable, more comfortable for people, or easier to receive. It is amazing how welcomed you can be in certain spaces until the name of Jesus is spoken boldly. But the Lord, in His mercy, always provides a way out so we can remain aligned with Him without sacrificing the commission He has given us.

This week, God showed me that my relationship with Him comes before ministry, business, platforms, opportunities, and the opinions of others. Before the work, there is worship. Before the assignment, there is intimacy with the Father.

And His love never fails.

His love continues to pour into me so that I can persevere through challenges, disappointments, and moments where rejection tries to discourage me. I have experienced firsthand how people may celebrate creativity, encouragement, education, and positivity — until the name of Jesus is mentioned. Yet even this is not surprising, because Jesus Himself told us it would happen.

“But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’”— John 15:25 (NIV)

Jesus also warned His disciples:

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”— John 15:18–19 (NIV)

These verses are not meant to create fear, bitterness, or division. Instead, they remind us to remain faithful. Our hope is not found in worldly approval. Our hope is found in Christ.

And what gives me peace and joy is knowing what is to come.

One day, every knee will bow before Jesus Christ.

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”— Philippians 2:10–11 (NIV)

No matter what opposition comes, I know that God will never forsake me. He has been faithful through every season, every uncertainty, every closed door, and every challenge. His presence continues to sustain me.

This week was also filled with encouragement and gratitude as our first interactive Bible Storytime was led by the Holy Spirit. It was truly an honor and blessing to witness the Lord moving through creativity, storytelling, participation, and learning together. I am thankful to be able to boast not in myself, but in the Lord’s creative works and the ways He continues to reach hearts through them.

The Lord has done so much this week, both publicly and privately, and I am continuing to learn what it means to walk in obedience with humility, perseverance, and love.

I would love to hear from you:
